The environmental and sustainable footprint of Sansone represents a cornerstone of our company’s identity. From the very beginning, we have been dedicated to creating products that not only meet our customers’ needs but do so responsibly toward the environment. Our food storage containers are a tangible example of this commitment: designed to ensure the highest quality preservation of liquids, they provide a sustainable alternative to plastic, a material known for its significant environmental impact.
At the heart of our product sustainability lies steel, a material that can be recycled indefinitely without losing its properties. Thanks to this characteristic, steel is considered a “zero waste” material, making it ideal for those looking to reduce their environmental footprint. With our containers, consumers can not only store products like olive oil, wine, and other liquids but do so with the confidence that they are contributing to a more sustainable future.
As a manufacturing company, we are well aware of our high energy consumption. To reduce our environmental impact, we have invested in the installation of solar panels, allowing us to offset part of our energy needs. This is just one of the steps we are taking to continuously improve our production practices and lower emissions.
One of our most meaningful initiatives is our collaboration with Olivami.
Olive oil, one of the main liquids for which our containers are used, reflects a deep connection to our region: Salento. This area, the birthplace of Sansone, has been severely affected by Xylella fastidiosa, a bacterium that has destroyed over 21 million olive trees in the past five years. This devastation has erased decades of hard work by thousands of Salento farmers and reduced the region’s primary source of CO2 absorption.
Olivami is an association that promotes a new, sustainable, and participatory approach to olive cultivation through a project that allows individuals to remotely adopt one or more Salento olive trees, contributing to the reforestation of our region.
Through our partnership with Olivami, we wanted to play our part in supporting Salento and its community. We have adopted 40 new olive trees, each bearing the name of a Sansone employee. This gesture not only symbolizes our commitment to sustainability but also serves as a tribute to the deep bond we share with our land and the people who make our success possible every day.
We believe that every small step toward sustainability has a meaningful impact. Through our products, projects, and initiatives, we strive to set an example of how a company can grow and innovate while respecting the environment and honoring its roots.
